Saving rainforests

Fifth-grade science students at H.G. Olsen Elementary School reached their goal of adopting 20 acres of rainforest this year. They sold more than 200 T-shirts for the Earth Foundation, an organization that supports rainforests around the world, in conjunction with the Nature Conservancy. Money raised from the T-shirt sales this year helps the Rift Valley region of Africa. Money is used to buy land for refuges, plant trees and train people in jobs that do not harm forests.
