Cool quilts
Port Aransas school students pose with two quilts they created recently to be raffled off at the Port Aransas Relay for Life, which will raise money for cancer research and awareness April 27-28. Twenty-three fourth- and fifth-grade students from H.G. Olsen Elementary School created illustrations for the little squares that make up the quilts, and three Port Aransas High School students sewed all of the squares together. Helping the students were the school district's speech therapist, Connie Bird, elementary teachers Ursula Johnson and Lindley Eldridge and PAHS teacher Claudia Locher.
