Art center classes scheduled The Art Center for the Islands has set classes and workshops on jewelry making, drawing, soft pastels and watercolor. Sue McClurg will hold a dichroic glass fusing jewelry workshop Monday, April 23. Attendees will make two pendants, one pair of earrings and one lapel pin. It will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $100. Preregistration and a prepayment of $50 are required by Saturday, April 21. Weekly classes are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Tuesdays: Pat Dittberner teaches a Drop In and Draw class from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for non-members and $13.50 for members. "Come, learn to draw or improve your skills with us any Tuesday," said Dittberner. Thursdays: Donna Garven will teach the techniques of using soft pastels from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for non-members and $13.50 for members. Students should bring a set of soft pastels, and the correct paper is available from the instructor. Fridays: Kay Barnebey teaches beginner/intermediate watercolor, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $80 for four classes or $25 for one. All classes are held at the art center, 323 N.
