Find treasures while emphasizing recycling, reusing, rebuying and reducing refuse in landfills at the citywide garage sale Saturday, March 3.

Keep Port Aransas Beautiful (KPAB) and the City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department sponsor the annual sale in an effort to raise awareness and a little money, said event chairman Betsy Churgai.

Individual sites will be held all around town, and a group sale will be held at the Community Center, 408 N. Alister St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Individual sites may be held at different times.

Any individual wanting to be included on the map must register with the Parks and Recreation Department by 5 p.m. today, Thursday, March 2, by calling 749-4158.

An ad listing all sale sites registered by press time is included in this issue of the South Jetty. Additionally, a map listing all sites will be available for pickup in a clearly marked black filing cabinet at the main entrance of the Community Center on Friday and Saturday.

The Community Center will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, March 2, for vendors to set up. Donations for KPAB still are being accepted and may be dropped off during that time.

Vendors are responsible for removal of all unsold items after the sale.

Proceeds will be used to promote activities fulfilling the mission of the organization.
