The Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins basketball team impounded the Thorndale High School Lady Dogs, 53-36, to win the 1A Division 1 Regional Championship today - Saturday, Feb. 24 - at the Berger Center in Austin.

The victory clears the way for the Lady Marlins to compete in the state tournament at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. The first game will be Thursday, March 1. If the Lady Marlins win that one, they will compete in a state championship game on Saturday, March 3.
