Leon
Ronald R. Leon of Port Aransas died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was 72. He and his wife had retired to Port Aransas in August 2006.
Leon had recently become a member of the Bishop's Committee of Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church. He was a retired federal project manager with the Job Corps of the Department of Labor. His work there led to an Outstanding Service Award from the Texas Educational Foundation for his dedicated work for thousands of disadvantaged young men and women. He served in the United States Air Force - Strategic Air Command during the Korean Conflict.
His son, Barry Leon of Mansfield, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Leona; a son Robert (Sandra) Leon of Jamestown, N.Y.; a daughter, Christine Hackett of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren, Sarah Leon, Matthew Leon, Caroline Hackett and Patrick Hackett; and a brother William (Gerri) Leon of Romeoville, IL.
Memorial Services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, at Trinity-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.
Interment was private.
