Big Beavers stop Marlins

BY DAN PARKER SOUTH JETTY REPORTER

When the other team has two 6- foot-6 players and four of your starters get into early foul trouble, you know it's going to be a tough night.

That was situation the Port Aransas High School Marlins faced when they lost, 55-43, to the Falls City Beavers on Jan. 12.

Marlins did show some flashes of brilliance.

"We came out in the third (quarter) and turned up the pressure and changed a 15-point deficit to only 4 points but could not get over the hump," said Mark Spencer, coach of the Marlins.

The Marlins record was 4-17 overall and 0-1 in district after the game.
