Though a bit rusty after an 11- day break between games, the Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins still convincingly beat the Calhoun High School Lady Sandcrabs (Sandies) on Friday, Dec. 29.

PAHS won by a score of 51-35 over Calhoun, a 4-A high school in Port Lavaca.

“As is usually the case, the first game back after the Christmas holidays was not the prettiest,” said Randy Henderson, coach of the Lady Marlins. “We committed 28 turnovers, many of them unforced. … Our performance must improve over the next two games before we start district (Tuesday, Jan. 9) against Woodsboro.”

Still, the Lady Marlins beat the Sandies by 15 points.
