KPAB will say thanks at celebration Monday

Keep Port Aransas Beautiful will honor all those who have helped the organization in the past year at its annual Appreciation Celebration Monday, Oct. 9. City manager Michael Kovacs will give a brief presentation on the upcoming bond election following the celebration.

The public is invited to enjoy food, drink and socializing, from 5 to p.m., at the Community Center, 408 N. Alister St.

The perennial theme, "Port Aransas, It's Our World" is noted by the food fare from around the world.

Carol Woodfin, Carol Jones, Julie Findley and Marilyn Cook will provide Mexican food. Athene Vaughan, Sherry Bream and Karen Murray will provide Italian fare. Marilyn and Glenn Leonard and Lou and Nancy Cinfici will provide oriental dishes. Don and Cheryl Anz, Gail Swenson and Johnie Whisman will dish out Texas food. Joan and Harry Snyder, John Fucik and Cheryl Marshall will serve tasty treats from Germany. Helen and Jake Garrett, Kim Fon and Alicia and Jack Dreessen will serve Greek food. Beverly and Larry Charles will serve French cuisine.

"If the past events are any indication, there will be wonderful food and time to visit with your friends and neighbors," according to Joan Snyder, event coordinator.

celebration Monday will collect annual membership dues. Individual dues are $15 and include a KPAB shirt; dues for families are $25 and include two shirts. Dues for businesses are $25, Good Neighbors dues are $50 and Angels are $100.
