WIC mobile returns to city

Representatives from the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutritional program will be in Port Aransas on Monday, Oct. 9. Situated at the Family Center IGA, 416 S. Alister St., they will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. For questions or an appointment, call (361) 767-7777.

The program, operated out of the Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, provides a variety of services for pregnant women, infants and children free of charge to eligible clients.

The services include health screening and referral, nutritional assessments, individual and group nutrition classes, immunizations, extensive breast feeding counseling and vouchers for groceries.

The mobile unit is scheduled to be in Port Aransas on the second Monday of each month.
