Hitching a ride
Eric Ozolins of Corpus Christi hangs onto the pectoral fin of a 30-foot whale shark while shooting its photo. Ozolins and friend Russell Wheeler of Corpus Christi were fishing at a production platform about 20 miles off Packery Channel on Friday, Sept. 15, when they spotted the whale shark and decided to do some snorkeling with the beast. The largest fish species in the world, whale sharks don't bite people. They are filter feeders, consuming only tiny sea life like plankton.
