Setting an example
The Port Aransas Garden Club chose the University of Texas Marine Science Institute as the September commercial yard of the month. Responsible for grounds keeping from left are flower man Jesse Cavazos, gardener Joe Rodriguez, crew leader Jose Chavez and superintendent Mike Gibson. Yaupon holly, bougainvillea, Indian hawthorne, hibiscus, angelonia, Confederate jasmine, Washingtonia palms. Sabal palms, moss rose, Mexican petunias, gomphrenia, purple sage, natal plum, Mediterranean fan palms, pentas, crape myrtle, selloums, macho fern, wedelia, spider lilies, rose of Sharon, hydrangeas, variegated ginger, hamaelia, ioxora, Mexican heather, liriope, wild olive trees, live oak and cottonwood adorn the grounds.
