The Texas Tropical Trail Region, headquartered in Kingsville, is a notfor profit initiative formed through the Texas Historical Commission to showcase the heritage, natural beauty and rich culture of South Texas for the benefit of Texans and travelers. Its mission is to identify, preserve and interpret the natural, historic and cultural resources of South Texas through partnerships with other historical and tourism organizations, as well as community leaders, and state and local entities. The Texas Tropical Trail Region was founded in February 2005 and became the eighth of 10 Texas Heritage Trails to be organized with a full time coordinator and State of Texas support. |
