     Ready or not, here they come. Aug. 21 was the first day for all students to attend classes in the Port Aransas Independent School District. It was an exciting day as I watched students throughout the district making their way to new classes for the year.

Scouts meeting tonight; all island boys invited to join in
     The Boy Scout 2006-2007 year begins with a meeting tonight, Thursday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. The scouts will meet at the scout hut behind the Community Presbyterian Church. All future meetings will be held on Thursdays at 6 p.m.
