Gilley

BUDDY GILLEY BUDDY GILLEY Ennis Rayburn "Buddy" Gilley of Port Aransas died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006. He was 65.

Gilley was born and raised in deep

East Texas. He was formerly a State Farm Insurance agent for more than 23 years in Beaumont and a partner in the Corpus Christi Ziebart.

Gilley's dream was to commercial fish fulltime, and he fulfilled that dream. He supplied much of the seafood for his family's previous restaurant, Gilley's Flounder Run and recently retired from supplying the Port "A" Seafood Company with fresh local products. Gilley trained his son, Colby, to commercial fish so he and Gilley's brother-in-law, Kenny Greene, could run the business.

His mother, father and a sister, Doris, preceded Gilley in death.

Gilley is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda; two sons, Colby and Richard; one grandson, Cole Gilley; a niece and nephew, Milly and Mike Dougay and their two children, Ryan and Morgan; two brothers-in-law, Kenny and Bobby (Jeri) Greene and their children, Dustin, Derek, Mike and Haley.

Memorial services were held conducted Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the First Baptist Church in Port Aransas, with Rev. William Campbell officiating. Interment followed at Royal Palms Cemetery in Port Aransas.
