Chapman was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Melrose, N.M. He married Maryedith (Wanda) Haworth on Oct. 28, 1939, in Somerton, Ariz.
Chapman was a member of the Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II.
Chapman was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing; he loved spending time with his family.
His parents; a daughter, Joyce daughter, Joyce Ann; two brothers, Teddy Lee Chapman and Albert Chapman, and a sister, Anna Mae Martin, preceded him in death.
Chapman is survived by his wife, Wanda Chapman of Pampa; one son, Johnny (Betty) Chapman of Pampa; two daughters, Shirley (Wallace) Johnson of Longview, and JoAnn (Jim) Helton of Pampa; seven grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Arvia Willingham and Rodney Tedford, pastor of the Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery.
