Ernie Lowe of Valley Mills died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. He was 66 and a former resident of Port Aransas.

Lowe was born Jan. 19, 1940, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to Lucian and Dorothy (Mansfield) Lowe. He was a member of the United States Coast Guard.

Lowe met and married Peggy Carper in Florida in 1959. He was a retired welder and lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Fla. and in Valley Mills. He loved the coast and the water.

A son, Ernie Lowe Jr. and a grandson, John Cassidy III, preceded Lowe in death.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Lowe of Valley Mills; two daughters, Cheryl Spence and Wendy Harvey, both of Valley Mills; two sons, Wayne Lowe of New York and Gary Lowe of Waco; four brothers, Warren Lowe, Bob Lowe, Raymond Lowe and Fred Alexander; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
