PAHS cross country teams ready for district
The Brundrett Middle School cross country team competed at a meet in Calallen Saturday, Oct. 14. In back from left are Kelsey Abel, Katie Samudio, Chelsea Perez, Erika Witten, Shelbi Foley, Catherine Cosper and manager Tarryn Murray. In the middle are Jessica Etheridge, Kalani Balcom, Nycole Chambers and Marina Milligan. In front are Chris Eggleston, Ely Bennett, Matt Fries and Ben Scott. The final run-through before district was a good workout for the Port Aransas High School cross country team.
The meet was hosted by Calallen High School.
The course ran a little faster than last week, and rainy weather held off for the high school runners.
"All of the kids ran well. We competed against the 4A and 5A teams, so our places were not as good, but our times were, for the most part," said Coach Steve Reaves.
"I know that all of the kids are ready for the district meet. You can only run so many meets that don't mean anything until you start to get a little tired. So I am looking forward to watching these kids compete next week at the district meet," Reaves added.
