Oldham

Genia Lee Oldham of Port Aransas died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, after a two-year battle with cancer. She was 59.

Oldham was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Corpus Christi, to John Henry and Esther Lea Oldham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her extended family, Teressa "Mom" Sheppard Brightwell, Eddie Sheppard and Sarah Sheppard, with whom she resided in Port Aransas; her special extended family, grandmother, Mary Grumbles; sisters and brothers she considered as her own, Debbie McQueen, Chrissy Bell, Rebecca Wight, Butch Ousley III, Nathan Sheppard, Tracie Sheppard, Jessie Kelly, Monica Johns, Wendy Brown and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who considered her as their own; and her church family from First Baptist Church of Port Aransas.

She had a host of friends who helped "Mom Teressa" during the past four months, Floyd McClannahan, C.L. Foster, Anne Richey, Linda Mastropole, Gala Gutsch, Theresa Deuly and Marion Fersing.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 20, at First Baptist Church, with Rev William Campbell officiating.
