Maspero
Victor Emmanuel Maspero Jr. died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at his home in Port Aransas. He was 60.
Maspero was born Aug. 5, 1946, in San Antonio, to Victor and Lucille Maspero. He graduated from Burbank High School where he was named All City Defense in 1965.
Maspero joined the United States Marine Corps after high school. After his honorable discharge, he managed several heavy-duty truck businesses. He developed and built the Rebecca Creek Golf Course in Spring Branch.
Maspero retired to Port Aransas to enjoy island life.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Maspero of Port Aransas; a daughter, Kathryn Ryan Maspero of San Diego, Calif.; a son, Victor Emmanuel Maspero III of Port Aransas; his siblings, Bernadette Schulz of Richardson, Thomas Maspero of San Antonio, Lorraine Caperton of Austin and Michael (Barbara) Maspero of San Antonio; and nine nieces and nephews.
A Rosary was recited Tuesday, Aug. 15, and a Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Aransas with Father Hearn as celebrant. Interment followed at Royal Palms Cemetery.
