The Port Aransas High School scholarship ceremony will held on Tuesday, May 28, in the high school gym.

Everyone is invited and the admission is free.

The event will start at 6 p.m. with the National Society Induction ceremony. This year’s valedictorian and salutatorian will then be presented and finally, donors will award scholarships to graduating seniors.

Individuals who would like to be considered for appointment to the Port Aransas Independent School District Board of Trustees Place 7 are asked to step forward.

David Parsons’ resignation from Place 7 during the board meeting on Wednesday, May 15, left the vacancy.

Elvis’ music will be in the building Tuesday

Elvis’ songs, “Les Miserables” and other concert selections will come to life during the annual Port Aransas Independent School District band concert on Thursday, May 23, at 7 p.m.

The event will take place in the Port Aransas High School gym.

Yearbooks may still be ordered

If you missed out on the discount for early purchase, there is still time to order a yearbook commemorating the 2012-13 school year at the Port Aransas Independent School District.

Yearbooks ordered after May 15 cost $60 each, and orders can be placed on the school district’s Web site, www.paisd.net. Those who placed orders by or before May 15 saved $10.
