High school XC teams to hold bake sale
      Prepare your sweet tooth – or at least, your baked-goods tooth. Port Aransas High School crosscountry runners will be having a bake sale on Sunday, Aug. 29, and again on Sunday, Sept. 5, to help pay for trips to San Antonio and Round Rock for practice runs.

Volunteers, mentors needed at elementary, middle schools
      If you’d like to give back to the public schools, Port Aransas ISD has a deal for you. You’re welcome to share your talents with students at H.G. Olsen Elementary School or Brundrett Middle School for an hour a week. The H.G. Olsen program is called Helping Hands Volunteers; the Brundrett program is a mentor program.
